Notes
This canvas has previously been thought to have been exhibited in Vollard's 1895 retrospective of Cézanne's work, but it cannot be proven. The previous painting of the same subject, however [Baigneur aux bras écartés, 1877–78 (913)], was purchased by Edgar Degas from that exhibition and is the likelier candidate.
