Douglas Cooper proposes in these reviews his "stylistic chronology" of Cezanne's work by comparing the 1954 Paris and 1954 Edinburgh/London exhibitions. He "find[s] it difficult to accept all of [Lawrence Gowing's] suggestions in which Gowing had "made a serious attempt to redate the pictures" of the Edinburgh/London show.
