Organised by Serguei Makovsky, editor of Apollon magazine and L'Institut français, St. Petersburg. All of the Cezannes were lent by Vollard with the exception of No. 591, which was lent by Theo. Behrens. (exhibition catalogue, preface for the painting section by Arsène Alexandre).
