This loan exhibition was organised by the British Institute for Adult Education, which sought to bring art to the people. The first exhibition opened in Accrington, Lancashire on April 1 and traveled to the nearby Blackburn Art Gallery where it opened on May 3. Another exhibition opened at the Newcastle Hatton Gallery on April 17. We do not know whether the one Cezanne shown was exhibited in Accrington/Blackburn or in Newcastle.
