Notes

Georges Rivière (1923 p. 222) mentioned as the model for the painting and presumably the watercolor of the same subject [Femme nue debout, 1898–99 (1878)] "Marie-Louise, a rare female model used by Cezanne."  The artist also noted in the Philadelphia I sketchbook [Baigneur débout et annotations, After 1882 (3002-45a)] possibly her name and address: "Mademoiselle Marie Louise / 7 rue Monceau."
