Notes
This still life was painted in Pissarro's studio in Pontoise. Cézanne borrowed a red shawl of his mother's to use as the tablecovering.The landscape in the background is by Pissarro and dated 1873; the painting of geese is unidentified. Pissarro's landscape also features in the background in his portrait of Cézanne, painted in 1874.
