Draft of a letter to a collector in Pontoise in the artist's hand: Je vais quitter Auvers dans quelques jours pour aller me fixer à Paris. Je prends en conséquence la liberté de me rappeler à vous. Si vous désirez que je signe la toile dont vus m'avez parlé, veuillez la fair remettre chez M. Pissarro, où j'y mettrai mon nom. Agréez mes sincères salutations.

The letter was probably written in Auvers at the beginning of 1874 to the local grocer, Armand Rondest, who owned several paintings by Cezanne (FWN 69, 720, 721), all of which are signed by the artist.
