Notes

Alain Mothe has identified the motif houses on today's rue Schmitz (the old chemin du Valhermeil), Auvers-sur-Oise. Pissarro painted a more panoramic view of the houses (Pissarro-Snollaerts, no. 624). On the right side of the Pissarro canvas are the same houses that appear in this work.  See Mothe, 2011, pp. 42-43 for Pissarro painting and present-day photograph of the site.
