This drawing illustrates a scene from Molière's comedy Tartuffe; or The Imposter, Act. IV, Scene 5. Vollard reproduced the drawing in 1914 (see Bibliography) and incorrectly cited the setting as from Act III, Scene 2. Venturi adopted Vollard's title.
