Cooper, Douglas. "Two Cézanne Exhibitions-I' and 'II." The Burlington Magazine 96, no. 620 and no. 621 (November and December 1954), 344–349 (no. 620); pp. 378–383 (no. 621).
Douglas Cooper proposes in these reviews his "stylistic chronology" of Cezanne's work by comparing the 1954 Paris and 1954 Edinburgh/London exhibitions. He "find[s] it difficult to accept all of [Lawrence Gowing's] suggestions in which Gowing had "made a serious attempt to redate the pictures" of the Edinburgh/London show.
